Travel time within a daylight window
Compare a planned journey with locally verified remaining daylight.
How it is calculated
Journey hours = distance ÷ average moving pace + stop time. Usable daylight = max(0, daylight remaining − chosen allowance). Margin = usable daylight − journey time.
Assumptions & limits
Daylight must be checked for the actual location and date. Terrain, weather, access, individual ability and emergencies can invalidate the estimate; it is not a travel safety clearance. Defaults are illustrative planning inputs, not recommended minimums or a guarantee of safety.
